Softball Recap: Cabrillo Jaguars vs. Millikan Rams
Cabrillo extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-15-1. They came up short against the Millikan Rams, falling 22-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 back in April.
As for Millikan, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 26-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by six runs or more this season.
For Millikan's part, Riley McAndrew and Jade Torres made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, McAndrew pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Torres tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. McAndrew has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, McAndrew went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs, while Torres went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most RBI McAndrew has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Millikan got a massive performance out of Peyton Dobrovolny, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Cisneros, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Cabrillo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Millikan, they are taking a road trip to take on Fullerton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
