Basketball Recap: Burley Drops Season-High Score on Wood River

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Burley). They claimed a resounding 76-20 win over the Wood River Wolverines. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-11.

Burley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nash Gillette led the charge by going 6-for-9 to rack up 13 points and four steals. Jacob Redder was another key player, going 5-for-6 on his way to 14 points.

Burley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive contests.

Wood River's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grady Edwards, who posted seven points.

Burley's record is now 7-15. As for Wood River, they are on a 19-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-21.

As of now, neither Burley nor Wood River have any future games scheduled.
