Softball Recap: Richmond Comes Up Short

Richmond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 24-12 to the Montgomery Central Timberwolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Timberwolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-2 last Friday.

Jakayla Steele was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Trinity Lockhart was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-5.

Richmond's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Montgomery Central, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Richmond wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-5 victory against Southern Lee on the 4th. As for Montgomery Central, they have also already played their next matchup, a 15-9 win against Gray Stone Day on the 4th.
