Slinger posted their closest win since May 2, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Port Washington Pirates 9-8. This was a revenge game for the Owls: when they faced off against the Pirates back in April, they had to take a 12-11 loss.

Slinger's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Port Washington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Slinger will face off against rival Grafton at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Port Washington is set to take on their familiar foe Whitefish Bay at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
