Santa Fe Trail skates past Osawatomie with ease

The Santa Fe Trail Chargers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Osawatomie 70-33 on the road. That looming 70-33 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Santa Fe Trail yet this season.

Osawatomie's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jasper Sallee, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Mitzner, who scored eight points.

The victory (which was Santa Fe Trail's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. As for Osawatomie, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-3.

After both having extra time off, Santa Fe Trail and Burlington will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 4:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Osawatomie will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Iola at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
