Baseball Recap: Make It Seven in a Row for Zion Christian

Zion Christian came tearing into Tuesday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Martin Clippers with a sharp 11-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mountaineers, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Isaac Moes, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Kloosterman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Zion Christian's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Martin, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Zion Christian will head out to face off against Saranac at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Martin, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Black River at 4:30 p.m. on the 15th.
