Basketball Recap: Hillsboro Trojans vs. Hesston Swathers
The Hillsboro Trojans lost against the Hesston Swathers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Hillsboro received a tough blow as they fell 54-35 to the Swathers. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hillsboro has scored all season.
Reed Friesen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hesston, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Jackson Fry, who scored 11 points along with five assists and four steals.
Hillsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Hesston, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2.
Hillsboro will head out on the road to take on the Indians on Tuesday. Larned will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Trojans are ranked 130th). As for Hesston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
