Football Game Preview: Syracuse Rockets vs. Auburn Bulldogs

The Syracuse Rockets are taking a road trip to challenge the Auburn Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Syracuse is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Syracuse's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past Falls City to the tune of 40-0. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won three games by 40 points or more so far this season.

Syracuse's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Will Janssen, who rushed for 140 yards and two scores, and Will Simon, who rushed for 86 yards and one touchdown. Those 86 rushing yards gave Simon a new career-high.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Syracuse proved: they limited Falls City to a paltry 1.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Oliver McIntosh for the heroic effort on defense: he. Syracuse hasn't allowed more than 8.5 yards per carry in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Auburn made easy work of Fairbury on Friday and carried off a 28-6 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Jeffs: they've now won three in a row.

Syracuse's record now sits at 7-0. As for Auburn, their record is now 3-4.

Syracuse couldn't quite get it done against Auburn in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 21-14.
