Basketball Recap: Hammond's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Hammond entered their tilt with Collegiate on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went their way against Collegiate as they made off with an 82-62 victory. The Tornadoes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Hammond's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Justin Harland, who went 9 for 14 on his way to 24 points. Those 24 points gave Harland a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordin Lewis, who went 10 of 19 en route to 21 points.

Hammond's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Collegiate, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hammond will head out to take on Independence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Collegiate, they will venture away from home to challenge Dunham at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
