AAA Dominion recap Oct. 3, 2012
Midlothian's Taylor Stout rumbled for the longest rushing play in AAA Dominion this season in his game against Huguenot last week. Stout's team bested the Falcons as he sprinted for 55 yards on the play and finished with 123 in all.
Clover Hill was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from ninth to sixth in the league. The Cavaliers beat Wythe 49-6 earlier in the week.
Midlothian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Justin Joyce threw for 65 yards and Matt Miller had 33 yards receiving. Carl Courter helped Midlothian's passing attack out by catching one ball for 20 yards.
Manchester's Brandon Allen and Myles Brathwaite have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Allen has thrown for 524 yards this season, while Brathwaite, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 12 catches for 290 yards. Stout from Kevin Thomas's team leads the league in rushing with 302 yards.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Bird takes on Cosby. The Skyhawks have allowed 52 points this season, while the Titans have given up 53.
Bird extended the longest winning streak in AAA Dominion this week by beating James River, 42-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
