Belfast entered their tilt with Mount View on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They rang in the new year with a 71-63 win over the Mustangs. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in December of 2025, they had to take a 50-38 defeat.

The victory got Belfast back to even at 4-4. As for Mount View, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record.

Belfast didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-47 win against John Bapst Memorial on the 6th. As for Mount View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 57-54 victory against Hall-Dale on the 6th.
