Appomattox County entered their tilt with Altavista on Wednesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Colonels a 10-0 shutout. With that win, the Raiders brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Paisley Mann made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Sydney Bryant was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Regan Sheilds, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Appomattox County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .450 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Appomattox County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Altavista, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
