League recap: Liberty Hill extends winning streak with victory over Wimberley

3A Region I District 8 recap October 1, 2013

Adding to the longest winning streak in 3A Region I District 8 this week, Liberty Hill beat Wimberley 21-10. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Panthers.

Lampasas moved up to 495 from 642 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Badgers climbed the ranks as a result of beating China Spring 35-14.

Derek Kiser threw for 284 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Tyler Vickers was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 100 yards on 10 carries as Liberty Hill defeated Taylor. Cory Ferrell also contributed to the rushing game with 85 yards on the ground.

Burnet's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kiser has thrown for 1,566 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while Cody Jones has 33 catches for 536 yards.

Lampasas took down the Cougars 35-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
