Milford hasn't had much luck against Millard recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Tigers will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. One thing working in Milford's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matches.
Milford's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Monticello. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven runs or more this season.
Miley Willden made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mckinlee Curtis, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hadley Griffiths, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Milford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Millard unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 21-11 to Beaver.
Millard got a massive performance out of Maren Davies, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. Jansie Chlarson was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Millard's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Milford, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.
Millard's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Milford has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Millard, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 strikeouts. Will Milford keep running through batters, or will the Eagles buck the trend?
Milford suffered a grim 21-7 defeat to Millard when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
