Kiley Whitfield and Mia McGrath secure win for Hickory Christian Academy

The Hickory Christian Academy Knights fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Calvary Day School by a score of 43-35 on Thursday.

Leading Hickory Christian Academy to victory were Kiley Whitfield and Mia McGrath. Whitfield scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals, while McGrath dropped a triple-double on 14 points, 11 rebounds, and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Whitfield has scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Calvary Day School lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lexi Mickey. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 steals. Mickey has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Hickory Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Calvary Day School, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hickory Christian Academy will take on Statesville Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Statesville Christian is ranked 551st, while Hickory Christian Academy is ranked 542nd). As for Calvary Day School, they will play host again and welcome High Point Christian Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Kylie Torrence and Mickey.
