Basketball Game Preview: Bevier Wildcats vs. Atlanta Hornets

Bevier is 0-9 against Atlanta since February of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Bevier Wildcats will face off against the Atlanta Hornets at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Bevier is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Meadville on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Bevier was beaten by Meadville 59-26. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-8.

Meanwhile, Atlanta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost to La Plata on the road by a 49-35 margin. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 156th).

Atlanta's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Bevier, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Bevier took a serious blow against Atlanta in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 56-21. Can Bevier avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
