Football Game Preview: Law Lawmen vs. Foran Lions + Official Tickets

The Law Lawmen will head out to face off against the Foran Lions at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Law is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 30.4 points per game this season.

Law is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: Fairfield Prep, who was ranked sixth at the time (Law was ranked 24th). The Lawmen lost 35-14 to the Jesuits last Friday. The game marked the Lawmen's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite their defeat, Law saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Dylan Gaillard, who rushed for 105 yards and one score, was perhaps the best of all. Matthew Witteman helped out on the ground, rushing for 101 yards.

Even if they lost, Law's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Shane Hanson refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

Meanwhile, Foran hadn't done well against Wilbur Cross recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Lions blew past the Governors 36-16. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-0.

The victory made it two in a row for Foran and bumps their season record up to 4-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 23 points in those games. As for Law, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.

Law came out on top in a nail-biter against Foran in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, sneaking past 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lawmen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
