Recap: Northside Christian Mustangs vs. Carrollwood Day Patriots
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Northside Christian Mustangs can now relate to. They were beaten by Carrollwood Day 40-0 on Friday. Northside Christian's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
It was another big night for Anthony Carrie, who rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Carrie has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last three times he's played. Jordan Magwood was another key contributor, throwing for 180 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes.
Northside Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Carrollwood Day, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Northside Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Carrollwood Day will head out on the road to face off against Clearwater Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clearwater Central Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
