Soccer Game Preview: Pine vs. Canterbury

The Pine Knights will face off against the Canterbury Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pine is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Pine is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Rocky Bayou Christian a 6-0 shutout. Give Pine's defense some credit: that's the team's seventh straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Rocky Bayou Christian from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal.

Meanwhile, Canterbury won against Saint Stephen's Episcopal last Friday with two goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Friday. The Cougars skirted past BridgePrep Village Green 2-1.

Pine's win bumped their record up to 21-0-2. As for Canterbury, their victory bumped their record up to 18-2-3.

Pine came out on top in a nail-biter against Canterbury when the teams last played back in February of 2023, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
