Gretna East faced Blair in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Griffins sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Bears. The win was just business as usual for Gretna East, who after nine games remain undefeated this season.

Sonora DeFini and Kendall Dobberstein scored all four of Gretna East's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 31 goals.

Gretna East pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those five games. As for Blair, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Gretna East is set to take on their familiar foe Elkhorn North at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Blair will face off against rival Bennington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
