Football Recap: College Station Piles Up the Points Against Lehman + How To Watch

College Station not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 11, 2024 (when they won 63-0). They claimed a resounding 70-14 victory over the Lehman Lobos. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cougars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Lobos are ranked 780th).

It was another big night for Keaton Johnson, who rushed for 64 yards and one score, and also threw for 115 yards and a pair of TDs. What's more, he racked up 129.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Noah Symank also deserves some recognition as he passed for his first passing touchdown of the season.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: College Station was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 333 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Another reason for the win was College Station's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. It was truly a group effort as Darrell Hopkins, Davis Gardner, and Zahron Benford picked up two apiece. Hopkins is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season.

Although Lehman took the loss, they still got scores from Nian Guzman and David Rivera.

College Station's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Lehman, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Coming up, College Station will take on Hendrickson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 934 yards in their previous games. As for Lehman, they will square off against Anderson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lobos will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
