Basketball Recap: Silver Creek Comes Up Short

Silver Creek played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 65-22 loss at the hands of the Legacy Lightning. The Raptors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-10.

Olivia Mortensen was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 30 points and 11 boards for Legacy. Mortensen is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 24 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Gianna Schmidt, who posted nine points.

Silver Creek dropped their record down to 3-16 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Legacy, their record now sits at 12-8.

Looking ahead, Silver Creek will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Longmont at 5:30 p.m. Silver Creek is facing Longmont at the right time seeing as Longmont is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Legacy, they will head out on the road to challenge Broomfield at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Broomfield will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Legacy surely won't give up without a fight.
