Basketball Recap: Middletown Falls Short of Sanford in the Playoffs

Middletown and Sanford squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Middletown had to settle for second. They came up short against the Sanford Warriors, falling 75-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cavaliers have suffered since January 18th.

Sanford got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Khareem Hart out in front who went 8-for-15 to rack up 21 points and eight boards. D.J. Jones was another key player, shooting 50% from the field on his way to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Middletown moved to 13-10 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points over those games. As for Sanford, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
