Matty Dessalegn, The Vanguard School's leading rebounder, solidified his role on Monday. Dessalegn posted 21 points along with 11 rebounds and seven steals, which was good enough to set a new career-high in steals in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now pulled down eight or more boards in the last 19 games he's played dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Dessalegn and The Vanguard School will square off against Colorado Springs Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dessalegn hasn't had any trouble running up the score (he's averaged 17.5 per game this season), but he'll have his work cut out for him against a dominant the Lions defense that's only given up 37.7 points per game.
