Softball Game Preview: Eunice Bobcats vs. Notre Dame Pioneers

The Eunice Bobcats will square off against the Notre Dame Pioneers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Notre Dame will be up against a hot Eunice squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went Eunice's way against DeRidder on Tuesday as Eunice made off with a 16-6 victory.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame made easy work of Lake Arthur on Tuesday and carried off a 16-1 win. The Pioneers' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Madaline Johnson looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Ava Yates was a standout: she scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was Lainey Stanford, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.

Notre Dame always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .737. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Notre Dame's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Eunice, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
