Football Recap: Yelm Gets the Win + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Graham-Kapowsin, Yelm was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Bonney Lake Panthers by a score of 16-6. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tornados also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Owen Sletten threw for 53 yards on five of nine attempts. On the ground, Hunter Owens rushed for 109 yards.

Yelm's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Bonney Lake, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Yelm is set to square off against their familiar foe Bethel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Bonney Lake will take on rival Spanaway Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
