Baseball Recap: Twin Lakes Wins Going Away Against Tri-County

Twin Lakes won the last time they faced Tri-County and things went their way on Monday too. The Indians put the hurt on the Cavaliers with a sharp 13-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Mason Brummett was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Twin Lakes' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-1 (and 5-7 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aidan Holle, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Goyer, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.

Twin Lakes kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

Twin Lakes' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Tri-County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.

Coming up, Twin Lakes will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Winamac at 5:30 p.m. As for Tri-County, they will head out on the road to take on Faith Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cavaliers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
