League recap: Tahlequah scores huge upset over Grove

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Tahlequah, who took down 123rd ranked Grove, 35-20.

Keegan Yates and Carson Smallwood provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Coweta. The connection was good for 73 yards, the longest such play in 5A District 4 this season.

Pryor's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Yates threw for 273 and two touchdowns and Smallwood had 92 yards receiving. On the ground Smallwood chipped in 88 yards. Brannon Barth helped Pryor's passing attack out by catching four balls for 90 yards.

Caleb Webster made the biggest impact on defense this week as Claremore defeated Collinsville. The 6-foot-3 junior grabbed one interception and recorded one fumble.

Thanks to the talents of Yates and Smallwood the Tigers have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Yates leads the league in passing with 543 yards, while Smallwood has rushed for 498 yards this season. The Zebras' Webster leads the league in receiving yards with 296 on 18 catches.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between East Central and the Tigers. The Cardinals enters the contest ranked eighth in the state, while Coweta ranks 24th.

Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Claremore takes on the Tigers. Rob Gilbreath's team's offense has racked up 112 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Tahlequah has allowed only 143 on the year.

East Central extended the longest winning streak in 5A District 4 this week by beating Central, 33-12. The win marks fourth in a row for the Bobby Klinck's team.
