Basketball Recap: Estrella Foothills Takes a Loss

Estrella Foothills has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 26 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They took a blow against the 'Iolani Raiders, falling 66-32. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 46th in Arizona, while the Raiders are ranked second in Hawaii).

Loss or not, Estrella Foothills got some senior leadership from Eva Amenhauser and Adrina Wilson. Amenhauser dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards, while Wilson posted six points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Wilson a new career-high in steals.

Estrella Foothills' defeat dropped their record down to 19-3. As for 'Iolani, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Estrella Foothills has already played their next matchup, a 68-27 victory against Deer Valley on the 15th. As for 'Iolani, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-25 loss against Hanalani on the 13th.
