Volleyball Recap: Springfield Southeast Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Parker Maxey and Josey Grant

Springfield Southeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Carlinville Cavaliers.

Springfield Southeast's loss came despite strong showings from Josey Grant and Parker Maxey. Grant had 12 digs, while Maxey had 17 assists and five digs. Maxey has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more assists the last four times she's played.

Springfield Southeast's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Carlinville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Springfield Southeast has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against New Berlin on the 19th. As for Carlinville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Cumberland on the 19th.
