Preview: John Curtis Christian Patriots vs. Edna Karr Cougars
The John Curtis Christian Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Edna Karr Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as John Curtis Christian comes in on three and Edna Karr on eight.
Last Friday, John Curtis Christian faced Brother Martin in a battle between two of the state's top teams. John Curtis Christian strolled past Brother Martin with points to spare, taking the game 26-7.
Marlon Prout was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Prout's longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards.
Meanwhile, even though Archbishop Rummel scored an imposing 31 points on Friday, Edna Karr still came out on top. Edna Karr took their match against Archbishop Rummel 39-31. Given Edna Karr's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked first, while Archbishop Rummel is ranked 25th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Their wins bumped John Curtis Christian to 6-2 and Edna Karr to 8-0.
John Curtis Christian was dealt a bruising 38-6 loss at the hands of Edna Karr in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can John Curtis Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
