Licking Heights entered their tilt with Licking Valley on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They took down the Licking Valley Panthers 63-49. The Hornets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Despite the loss, Licking Valley still got an impressive performance from Chase Vermilion, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Vermilion is becoming a predictor of Licking Valley's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 4-2 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Auggie Conley was another key player, putting up seven points.

Licking Heights is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Licking Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

It'll be a Battle of the Bugs the Licking Heights Hornets face off against the Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Licking Heights knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Mt. Vernon likes a good challenge. As for Licking Valley, they will be playing at home against Watkins Memorial at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Licking Valley is facing Watkins Memorial at the right time seeing as Watkins Memorial is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
