Basketball Recap: Braxton County Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Braxton County's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They took down the Nicholas County Grizzlies 69-54. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Grizzlies back in January, they had to take a 70-50 loss.

Defeat or not, Nicholas County got some senior leadership from Isaiah Miner and Ira Mylott. Miner en route to 13 points and six boards, while Mylott dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. Miner is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games he's played. Spencer Keiper was another key player, putting up five points and seven boards.

Braxton County pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points over those games. As for Nicholas County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Braxton County is taking a road trip to face off against Scott at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Scott will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Braxton County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Nicholas County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 66-45 victory against Oak Hill on the 25th.
