Volleyball Recap: Penn's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

After flying high against NorthWood on Tuesday, Penn came back down to earth. The Kingsmen fell 3-1 to the Chesterton Trojans on Thursday. The Kingsmen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Penn ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 21-25, 25-21, 25-19.

Loss or not, Penn got some senior leadership from Montana Swartz and Abby Lane. Swartz had ten digs and four aces, while Lane had 18 digs. Swartz is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Penn fell to 3-1. As for Chesterton, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Penn wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Carroll on the 23rd. As for Chesterton, they will square off against Andrean at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
