Softball Recap: Southwest Legacy Takes a Loss

Southwest Legacy suffered their biggest loss since February 13th on Friday. They came up short against the Southside Cardinals, falling 20-10. The Titans have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Novalee Gloria made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Emma Puente, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Southwest Legacy's record now sits at 3-12. As for Southside, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Coming up, Southwest Legacy will be playing in front of their home fans against South San Antonio at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest Legacy will need to watch out since South San Antonio has now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Southside, they will square off against McCollum at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southside's pitchers better be ready for this one: McCollum has averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
