Baseball Recap: Poudre Comes Up Short

Poudre was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Denver North Vikings. That's two games in a row now that the Impalas have lost by just one run.

Poudre saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brett Lamb, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Lamb has posted since back in March of 2024. Brady Santillanes was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Poudre's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Denver North, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coming up, Poudre will venture away from home to challenge El Capitan at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The last nine games Poudre has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Denver North, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eaton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
