For the first time this season, Mountainburg will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Friday. They will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Cotter Warriors at 3:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mountainburg's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Mulberry 15-0. The Dragons' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Dallon Turner was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-2. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caedmon Cowett, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cotter). They were the clear victor by a 16-6 margin over Lead Hill on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.
Cole Tilton made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Tilton was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Cotter let Will Morris and AJ Lyon run wild. Morris scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Lyon scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Jackson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Cotter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Mountainburg's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Cotter, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Mountainburg came out on top in a nail-biter against Cotter in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will Mountainburg repeat their success, or does Cotter have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
