Basketball Game Preview: Andover Panthers vs. Bolivar-Richburg Wolverines

Andover hasn't had much luck against Bolivar-Richburg recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Andover Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bolivar-Richburg Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. Andover knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Bolivar-Richburg likes a good challenge.

It was a proper cat-fight when Andover took on Hinsdale Central on Friday. Andover blew past Hinsdale Central, posting a 76-17 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 32 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Bolivar-Richburg's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 63-44 to Fillmore. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Eagles are ranked 73rd).

Andover picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 7-3. As for Bolivar-Richburg, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.

Andover suffered a grim 78-57 defeat to Bolivar-Richburg in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Andover avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
