Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marion County). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 74-72 win over the Central Hawks on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Hawks back in December of 2024, they had to take a 62-61 defeat.

Loss or not, Central got some senior leadership from Sema J Copeland and Demarcus White. Copeland posted 26 points, while White put up 23 points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Bussey, who had eight points.

The victory made it two in a row for Marion County and bumps their season record up to 8-9. As for Central, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-6 record.

Marion County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-55 loss against Chattahoochee County on the 18th. As for Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 71-59 defeat against Macon County on the 18th.
