Volleyball Game Preview: Socastee Braves vs. Fort Dorchester Patriots

The Socastee Braves will face off against the Fort Dorchester Patriots at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Socastee will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Socastee is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: Hanahan, who was ranked 19th at the time (Socastee was ranked fourth). The Braves came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday.

The victory didn't come easy: Hanahan scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 15-25, 25-19, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Fort Dorchester was able to grind out a solid win over James Island last Wednesday, taking the game 2-0. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Fort Dorchester was: they took both sets by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-14.

Fort Dorchester's win came from a few key players Socastee will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cade Ridgway, who had 12 digs and two assists.

Fort Dorchester's win bumped their record up to 20-14. As for Socastee, their victory bumped their record up to 24-7.
