Basketball Game Preview: Canal Winchester Indians vs. Hilliard Davidson Wildcats

The Canal Winchester Indians will head out to challenge the Hilliard Davidson Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Canal Winchester will head into Friday's match out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They came up short against Newark, falling 60-37. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 346th, while the Wildcats are ranked 72nd).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Hilliard Davidson challenged Hilliard Bradley on Friday. Hilliard Davidson took a 41-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hilliard Bradley.

Abby Starr was Hilliard Davidson's leading scorer, having posted nine points.

Hilliard Davidson has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for Canal Winchester, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

Canal Winchester strolled past Hilliard Davidson in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 43-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canal Winchester since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
