Recap: Wichita County Indians vs. Ulysses Tigers
It was a good run, but the Wichita County Indians unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ulysses. The contest was a 22-22 toss-up at halftime, but Wichita County was outscored by Ulysses in the second.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Colton Harbin, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Christopher Michel, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Wichita County's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5. As for Ulysses, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wichita County and Lakin will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lakin presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wichita County in Kansas (Lakin is ranked 28th, while Wichita County is ranked 192nd). As for Ulysses, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hugoton at 7:30 p.m. Hugoton is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
