Softball Recap: Woodland Hills Wolverines vs. Penn Hills Indians
Woodland Hills extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 26 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-14 in the process. They lost 17-0 to the Penn Hills Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolverines of the 5-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.
As for Penn Hills, they moved to 3-15 with that win, which also ended their 13-game losing streak. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Penn Hills' part, Izzy Decarlo was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Decarlo has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Penn Hills got a massive performance out of London Seymore, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with six stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those six stolen bases gave Seymore a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Helsel, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.
As of now, neither Woodland Hills nor Penn Hills have any future games scheduled.
