Soccer Recap: Martin County Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Martin County was feeling good fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Tradition Prep last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Martin County Tigers fell just short of the Benjamin Buccaneers by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 25th).

Martin County's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for Benjamin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Martin County will head out to square off against Jensen Beach at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Benjamin, they will head out on the road to take on Cardinal Newman at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Benjamin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season.
