Basketball Recap: Ocoee Takes a Loss

Ocoee lost against Olympia back in February of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Ocoee Knights took a hard 54-40 fall against the Olympia Titans. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Titans are ranked 42nd).

Olympia found their leader in sophomore Bishop Wenze, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was James Nowells, who posted eight points and five boards.

Ocoee now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Olympia, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Ocoee will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Altamonte Christian at 7:00 p.m. As for Olympia, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-51 win against University Christian on the 11th.
