After a string of eight wins, Winter Haven's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carrollwood Day Patriots.

Emily Drier paced Winter Haven's offense, picking up five kills. Drier got some help from Addison Traina and her eight assists. Drier was also a major player on defense: she and Taylor Warren shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Winter Haven's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Carrollwood Day, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Winter Haven wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Academy of the Holy Names on the 13th. As for Carrollwood Day, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Coronado on the 13th.
