Basketball Recap: Auburndale Takes a Loss

Auburndale has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 29.6 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 59-22 loss at the hands of the Assumption Royals. The loss continues a trend for the Apaches in their matchups with the Royals: they've now lost five in a row.

Having lost for the first time this season, Auburndale fell to 4-1. As for Assumption, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Auburndale will take on Phillips at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Auburndale's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so Phillips' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Assumption, they will challenge Chequamegon at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Assumption knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Chequamegon likes a good challenge.
