Basketball Game Preview: Castle Park Trojans vs. Hilltop Lancers

The Castle Park Trojans will take on the Hilltop Lancers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Castle Park and four for Hilltop.

Last Friday, Castle Park came up short against Sweetwater and fell 60-50.

Meanwhile, Hilltop played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 68-41 defeat at the hands of Chula Vista.

Despite the loss, Hilltop saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Adrian Alvarez went 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points and four steals. With that strong performance, Alvarez is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Grant, who posted four points and three steals.

Hilltop's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Castle Park, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15.

Castle Park didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Hilltop in their previous meeting last Friday, but they still walked away with a 55-50 victory. Does Castle Park have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hilltop turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
