Timpview hasn't had much luck against Wasatch recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Thunderbirds will welcome the Wasps at 3:30 p.m. Timpview has given up an average of 7.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Timpview is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 18-17 heartbreaker at the hands of Salem Hills. Even if the Thunderbirds couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Elliot Myers led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Timpview: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tyler Weed, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Wasatch's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (2-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The contest marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Wasatch saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Brown, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Timpview now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Wasatch, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-5.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Timpview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. However, it's not like Wasatch struggles in that department as they've averaged .344. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Timpview couldn't quite get it done against Wasatch in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 7-3. Will the Thunderbirds have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
