Softball Recap: Reedley Takes a Loss

Reedley suffered their closest defeat since March 9, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Dinuba Emperors by a score of 5-3. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Emperors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Reedley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Macy Ruiz, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Ruiz a new career-high in doubles (two).

Reedley now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Dinuba, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reedley will face off against Tulare Union at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dinuba, they will take on Golden West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Golden West will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
